A warm welcome to the fans of top United Arab Emirates club Al Ain FC, who have signed up to take part in the beautiful race.
Based in the city of Al Ain (known as the garden city), the Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club was formed in 1968, and adopted the colours of fellow Superleague Formula club RSC Anderlecht after a 1977 training camp in Morocco.
The most successful club in the UAE (winning the UAE League nine times), Al Ain has also played in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League on five occasions, and won the inaugural crown in 2002-03.
“By combining our passion for football with motorsport and competing in Superleague Formula, we have an outstanding opportunity for our club and our brand to be represented on the world stage,” H.E Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of Al Ain Club said.
Al Ain’s Superleague Formula car will be unveiled at Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace Hotel next Saturday (10 May), and to the fans before the game against Al Naser Club at Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan stadium on 12 May.
